With Pink Duck #1 all our friends had boys, so we always had very neutral themes for birthday parties. Yay for all Maren's friends! They are all girls! So we could have a girl-y mermaid theme.

I tried to get a close up of the texture of the sand. It looked great! It was tan/brown frosting covered with the very finest dusting of crushed Vanilla Wafers. Perfect!

Opening presents. We usually ask for no gifts from friends, (coming to the party is present enough), Mommy, Daddy and Greta got all mermaid themed gifts for Maren. Mermaid sheets for her big girl bed, a mermaid doll, sea life jammies and Greta picked out a special Mermaid Cookbook for her sister.
